Just in case you're wondering

No matter how inconvenient it is--ALWAYS unplug Christmas lights before trying to change a broken light. And if the light zaps you, it would then be really stupid to try to pull it out with your teeth. And, honestly, unless you just really enjoy looking for the new broken light on the string every single day, it's just best not to use Christmas lights at all!

Merry Christmas to Me

Well, Cathy and I got a jump start on our Christmas shopping--unfortunately, all I bought was stuff for myself!! We woke up at 3:30 to get $20 gift cards at the PX on base. We went all over town--the PX, Wal-Mart, Fred Meyers, the mall, and finally a beauty supply store. I got a few things at each place although nothing big. At the beauty supply store, I bought foam waterless cleanser for cats and dogs. I've never given the cats a bath, but sometimes I know they need freshening up. Plus, I usually bathe Pepsi once a week, but in the winter I don't think she really needs it quite so much plus the air is dry and I don't want to dry out her skin. Pepsi was pretty skiddish around the cleanser (I just massaged it into her), but Blinkin was absolutely petrified!! I had to keep dragging him back to me to get it rubbed in. Now he's rolling around on the floor trying to get the scent off him...

New Addition to the Family

My Dyson is my new baby--I love it!!! Dustin allowed me to by it as our anniversary present and I am just really, really loving it. He does absolutely everything. Well, I still haven't figured out how to get him to start up my car in the morning, but besides that, he is amazing!! I have been vacuuming nonstop since Tuesday--every little nook and cranny, every bit of upholstery that I can find. And if that isn't worth the ridiculous amount of money I spent on it, then I don't know what is! Pepsi and Dyson are already having a bit of sibling rivalry. I was vacuuming the "naked" couch while all the cushion covers were in the washing machine and Pepsi went ballistic. She kept snarling and growling and nipping at it, but would yelp if it started to suck up her face. Which, by the way, I'm a little disappointed that it didn't just vacuum her straight up--I paid extra for the "animal" line...

Rats...

Well, I lost the sped job. Now I'm just back to regular subbing...

Hair Cut

I got my hair cut today. First time in a long time that I actually picked a picture out of a magazine and didn't just get a trim. It feels weird to have bangs and lots of layers, but I'm getting used to it and I think it looks cute.

Bananarama

Every week I give Pepsi a bath and she absolutely hates it. She stands so still, but the sorrow in her eyes is so pathetic. So I try to cheer her up by giving her yummy smelling shampoo. But I was out of my normal shampoo, so I had to use her icky dog shampoo that doesn't smell at all--which leaves her smelling like a wet dog. So I decided to try a little conditioner on her. Not only does she feel super dooper soft, but she also smells like bananarama!! I'm hoping that it will help keep her wirey hair less tangly.

...It seems like she has recovered from her bath because she is running in circles around the coffee table like a maniac, only stopping for quick laps of water and to chase a frightened cat back up the cat tree (where they so obviously belong).

From the Heavens...

Last night it thundered. It rarely thunders in Alaska--I think it's the first time I've heard it up here. And it was awesome--loud and rumbly, the kind you can feel roll inside you.
